Roger Ailes, the founder of Fox News has died. At age 77 he leaves a “fair and balanced” legacy. His legacy will live on in the veins of the empire of fair reporting he built throughout his lifetime.
The network shared a statement from Ailes’s wife, Elizabeth Ailes, announcing his passing. The statement was reported first by the Drudge Report.
“I am profoundly sad and heartbroken to report that my husband, Roger Ailes, passed away this morning,” the statement read.
“During a career that stretched over more than five decades, his work in entertainment, in politics, and in news affected the lives of many millions. And so even as we mourn his death, we celebrate his life.”
Roger Ailes left Fox News in 2016 leaving an unmatched legacy in place. His small news organization is now an institution and mainstay of fairness in Global Journalism. Rest In Peace, Mr. Ailes!
